Ongoing New Drama: Good Doctor

Good Doctor 굿 닥터, is a medical drama starring Joo Won, Moon Chae Won and Jo Sang Wook. This drama is about Park Shi On, portrayed by Joo Won, who is diagnosed with level 3 Savant Autism Syndrome when he was young, who later becomes a pediatrician at a hospital. Even though Shi On has been treated for his autism, he hasn't fully recovered in terms of his mental and social skills. He still has a mentality of a 10 year old boy. However, he has the ability of a doctor. In fact, he was said to be a child prodigy, as he was able to memorize the entire human body organs and parts at the mere age of 7.

Moon Chae Won plays Doctor Cha Yeon Seo, a doctor who is a 2nd year fellow at the Sung won University Medical Centre. She is smart, confident and cheerful. Yoon Seo is secretly in love with Do Han, who is the assistant professor at the pediatric surgery department. Jo Sang Wook plays Doctor Kim Do Han, a pediatric surgeon who is said to be the one of the best doctor at the hospital. However, he is arrogant and very strict to his juniors. When Shi On got a job and is assigned to the pediatric surgery department as a first year resident, he starts getting in the way of Do Han, who does not acknowledge Shi On as a doctor due to his autism. Yeon Seo who is kind and cheerful on the other hand, helps Shi On while he is at the hospital. And there begins the story about the three main doctors at the pediatric surgery department at the Sung Won University Medical Centre.

Good Doctor 굿 닥터 replaces Shark for its Mon-Tues time slot in Korea. Good Doctor 굿 닥터 aired their first episode this week, and managed to get a 10.4% rating for their very first episode, and a rise of 4%, making it a total of 14% for their second episode, beating out Goddess of Jeonggi,  followed by Empire of Gold. The first episode of the drama is pretty impressive for a medical genre drama. The drama not only depicts the conflicts and life of doctors within the four walls of the hospital, but it also shows the interaction of the characters in their personal life outside of the hospital. Good Doctor 굿 닥터, is something fresh and different from normal medical drama, as the main character, who is diagnosed with autism, is able to become a doctor. The great casting of the drama and the acting skills of Joo Won and Moon Chae Won is also highly noted for their roles in the drama.

Good Doctor 굿 닥터 is a new one of a kind medical drama that will touch the hearts of the viewer and give viewer a chance to look at autism in a different light. I would definitely recommend this drama and continue to watch and support this drama!
